Theo Institute of Eastern Studies has been established by Bombay Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church to help appreciate the growing need of communal harmony and mutual respect of Eastern Spirituality.
THEO, the Greek word for "GOD", is inspired from the name of LL H.G. Dr. Philipos Mar Theophilus - our guiding light. TIES is a centre of minds, to find love of God and be loved thus spreading the understanding, as shown to us by our beloved Mar Theophilus (Theophilus means, "Loved by GOD").
Our Inspiration and Guiding Light
Late Lamented H.G. Dr. Philipos Mar Theophilus
