Program 1 - Objective

The course on Orthodox Christian Spirituality is intended:

• To equip the students overcome the dehumanizing contemporary challenges and temptations to be fully human and to be involved in the struggle for a just and peaceful world.

• To help the students be familiar with the history and the different Schools and Monastic Movements.

• To explain the uniqueness of Orthodox Christian Spirituality with reference to the context and in comparison to other significant spiritualties.

• To help students read and understand the Original writings of saintly Fathers and Mothers

• To help the students know the commonalities of various religious traditions which promotes unity and harmony of all and emphasizes centrality of Spirituality in life.
